Around Wicklow, soaring energy costs pose serious challenges to schools as we enter what will be a difficult winter. I have raised the importance of retrofitting schools to future proof against rising energy costs. No child should ever have to learn in a cold classroom. The process of upgrading schools must be straightforward and made possible on a large scale quickly. I raised this matter in the Dáil recently and look forward to working with the Minister for education and seeing progress in this area.
