The ban on evictions enacted by the Government will provide much needed short term relief to renters across Ireland during this difficult period. However, we must also focus on long term solutions such as “cost for rent” schemes aimed at providing affordable, lasting housing options for people. Schemes such as these are at the core of Green Party housing policy. In Wicklow, I am proud that we have already exceeded our social housing delivery targets and look forward to working with local authorities to build on this progress into the future.
